I’m getting an AdSense account (my application still needs to be reviewed). I was wondering, does anyone know on average what one click on an advertisement on YouTube would give me?
If you are talking of Video Ad Units wherein you show YouTube videos on your site, don’t get your hopes up. You only earn if someone clicks on the ads on top of the video, not when the video is played. The problem is that most people will watch the video, but not click on the ads.
I have used it on my sites but treat it as additional content as I am not earning anything from it. As in big fat zero.
You’re better off with Adsense for content, not video ad units
The best place to put contextual ad is to put half-banner ad just below the video. this placement works for pictures too.
It is tough to calculate how much because it depends on the competition for those particular keywords but at average my guesstimate is that you can expect around 15 cents per click at the beginning.

This amount varies greatly.
I’ll answer this question for you, but you must first understand the relationship between adwords and adsense. The ads that pay the most for adsense are typically the keywords that cost the most on adwords.
What is Google Adwords?
Google AdWords is a quick and simple way to purchase highly targeted cost-per-click (CPC) advertising, regardless of your budget. AdWords ads are displayed along with search results on Google, as well as on search and content sites in our growing ad network, including AOL, EarthLink, HowStuffWorks, & Blogger. With more than 200 million searches on Google each day and even more searches and page views on our ad network, your Google AdWords ads reach a vast audience.
When you create a Google AdWords ad, you choose keywords for which your ad will appear and specify the maximum amount you’re willing to pay for each click. You only pay when someone clicks on your ad. To save you even more money, the AdWords Discounter automatically reduces the actual CPC you pay to the lowest cost needed to maintain your ad’s position on the results page.

Depends on many factors of your site, because the advertisers bid on the advertising space each time the page is loaded.
You could make anywhere between $.05 and $.50 per click, you’ll have to wait and find out.
