I played the hell outta this….also Atomic Dog…..One Nation Under a Groove….We Want the Funk…Dr. Funkenstein…(The bigger the headache, the bigger the pill..and they call me The Big Pill, baby)….LOL….All of it !!
this is funk, some other good 70’s-80’s funk bands are One Way, Bar-Kays, Mtume, Brass Construction, Gap Band, Cameo, Dazz Band. for good 60’s-70s funky soul music you can look up Sam & Dave, Booker T., Isaac Hayes, Rufus Thomas(all Stax Records musicians are good), Southside Movement, The Meters, Isley Brotehrs, Brothers Johnson, Ohio Players, Leon Haywood, Funkadelic, Lee Dorsey. can’t think of any otehrs at the moment but all those bands are really good
I need some help, please. I’m getting really into this kind of music, funky 60’s/70’s stuff. Zapp & Roger, Parliament, Doobie Brothers, even Jackson 5. I know these aren’t exactly the same but any suggestions for me to look up? Good groups or genres? I don’t even know what genre this song is. Funk? P-Funk? Help please.

Yeah, that’s a classic. I’m into rap and hip-hop too. G-funk’s how I got into P-funk, like old skool Snoop.

You could also look into where Rap came from with The Sugarhill Gang’s “Rappers Delight”.

This song reminds me of the better times. And Sonic 3, for some reason. The bass groove is similar to one of the stages.
