I have created a whole page using HTML I wrote, but I don’t know how to host it! Please tell me how to do it on a free ware site only. For example, Geocities specifically. I’m very young so please don’t talk too complicated!
Save the file and use the Easy Upload Tool goto the Create and Update Tab then Easy Upload Browse for the file and
Create & Update or Index tab of your GeoCities Control Panel, then click “Easy Upload. Then Click Browse. Also check the checkbox to make the file name lower case.
If you want the page to be the main page name it index.html OR index.htm
1. In Notepad, choose File –> Save As
2. In the file name field, make sure you give the file a .html extension. For example, your home page should be named index.html
3. In the Files of type pull-down menu underneath the file name box, choose All Files. This is important; you can’t save the file as HTML if you do not choose this option.
4. Go to Geocities.yahoo.com and make sure you are logged in
5. Click on the Create and Update tab
6. Click the Easy Upload link
7. Select your file and upload it
Alternative method:
1. Go to Geocities.yahoo.com and make sure you are logged in
2. Click the Create & Update tab
3. Click the HTML editor link
4. Select all the code in the text box and delete it
5. Open your HTML file in Notepad
6. Select all the text in Notepad and copy it to the clipboard
7. Place your cursor in the Geocities text box again
8. Paste the text into the text box.
9. Enter a name for the file in the file name box, abouve the New button
10 Click the Save button.
geocities allows you to upload files in .html, .htm or .doc format. that means that the extention (the part behind the . in your filename) must be either of these three.
Be careful with Geocities though as it only allows you to upload files with no spaces in the file name. You will have to add an underscore _ or just leave out the spaces if you have in the name. for example, Geocities will not accept a file called “my diary.html” but it will allow you to upload “mydiary.html” or “my_diary.html”.

Yup, just use the advanced page builder. You’ll be able to paste in all your HTML and publish it live. 🙂
