Normally you won’t know whether it is a CPM or CPC. Typically though if you see a solo text ad in an ad format that shows 3-4 (e.g. leaderboard, rectangle), then that often means CPM ad
Plus, if you have opt in to the Adsense Review Center, this is the area where Adsense shows who are the advertisers who specifically targeted your site to show their ads. Most of their ads, though not all, are CPM based.
