Although Sevillanas are really not considered flamenco, it is the usually the first dance that you are taught, like Dextrex18 said. Research it further on the internet (I was not able to post a link). I started out by learning Sevillanas. In this video, the girls are dancing Alegrias.
I think thath u will start with “Sevillanas”, is a style easy and u ejoy it very much, is very amazing. Furthermore, in “ferias” of Spain is the more popular style.
Hmm, I know very little about the dance itself… As far as playing the music goes, it’s better to start with styles that don’t use a 12-beat compas, and I would guess that it’s the same for a dancer. Try the Sevillanas, perhaps?
