How do you indent text using html? I want to indent a whole paragraph not just the first line.

Further indents can be made with multiple instances of the blockquote tag.

CSS can also do the job, as others will point out.
padding-left:10px;
The tag is supposed to contain only block-level elements within it, and not just plain text.
To validate the page as strict XHTML, you must add a block-level element around the text within the tag, like this:
here is a long quotation here is a long quotation
You could set your paragraph with any indentation amount with the tab key and no white space or line breaks, then use the tags.
