Blogs are much harder to monetize with Google Adsense because of the nature of blogs and the audience it attracts. Typically visitors go to the blog because the blogger posts interesting stories, comments and information — they are more likely to ignore the ads.
The best way to monetize blogs is by monetizing traffic which is through CPM. Often the best ones are through banner advertising
Last year, Business 2. had an article entitled “Blogging for Dollars” which mentioned the same points I made

For do-it-yourselfers, however, the revenue stream created by AdSense in its early days was for the most part simply beer money. At the same time, display ads–the banners, buttons, and skyscrapers that had fallen into disfavor with the bursting of the Internet bubble in 2000–began to make a comeback on major destination sites such as Yahoo (Charts) and MSN. Marketers pay for those kinds of ads based on a formula known as CPM, which stands for cost per 1,000 impressions.

Yes, there are all kinds of VRE (virtual real estate) blogs built on Adsense. Most of the high earning sites (from what I’ve seen) are done in WordPress a top level domain name. The “secret” is to have highly relevant content which attracts highly relevant ads. You can’t just throw up any old site and expect the money to roll in.
Adsense ads can can cost advertisers $17 PER CLICK (some are even much higher) depending on the topic. You would then get a cut. However, the key is to only blog in well researched niches where people have placed high bid ads to attract people willing to spend money.
For example, a blog on how to stretch your pennies while living close to the poverty line is not going to attract ad sense ads that generate high click cost ads.
It would be a violation of terms for me to post a sample website of good revenue generators, but email me if you want some actual examples.
yes you can make good money! I can prove it to you, I’ve made 27.50 today on my blog and posting videos on flixya. I can walk you through step by step if you need me too. I also took the time to make a page with some links on it so you can sign up for both. Good luck and contact me with any questions at
