Adsense is a pretty good way of making some money without selling anything.
Check out some of the pages on my site and see how the ads are relevant to page content.
It is not a get rich quick scheme, so don’t think of it like that.

You do not need to pay if you are joining adsense. You will only pay if you are joining adwords.
What is the difference between the two?
Adsense –
You will need to put some of the advertisement ads into your website and when your visitor try to click the advertisement ads through your website, you will earn a portion of the revenue.
Adwords –
This is the Pay Per Click advertising program offered by Google and it is opp. to Adsense. It means that you will put your own website advertisement ads into some other people webpage. When the visitor visit their webpage and click your advertisement ads, you will need to pay to google some money.

To answer your question. Adsense is free you just need a blog or site that meets their terms, ie no porn hate of kiddy stuff. No you cannot use it on myspace. Simple. My profile under adsense has more information if you need it.
