well i think gilels works with his slow interpretation very good the majestical mood out. this fast interpretation of kissing destroys this mood entirely.
well i cant explain exactly what i mean because my english vocabulary is limited 😉
i have to admit that he is more than wonderful. this is such a difficult piece but he can play this fast, he is way too good. but truly i like this song played at a slower tempo, so we can hear all the details and enjoy every single note. i have to wsay that i love this piece a lot. its such an awesome work. please, let me know if you know any good songs. i love music so much. thanks
Kissin at play channels his soul’s energy into the instrument. Impressions of the soul are expressed though the fingers. Some people have impressive souls. Some pianists have expressive fingers. Kissin has both, that makes him unsurpassable. Kissin is a gift to humaity.
Some people say he plays too fast, but this can not be called “fast”. To me it is the exact rythm, which shows the kind of fire in the music. But Kissin is a little bit egoistic 😀
IT says that ni the piece…. First, you play fast, then in the middle, Subito Greatly Slow, then you speed up to A Tempo, First Tempo, which has been done my Kissin. Remarkable Speed and emotion make Kissin one of the greatest pianists of our time, so don’t be criticizing on how the man plays this piece.
This is very exciting, sentive and brilliant playing. It was obviously an encore after an Albert Hall Prom concert. Great to see and listen to. Of course he was highly pumped up with emotion.

I know EXACTLY what you mean. I have a recording of this same Prelude, where one Victor Yeresko is at the piano.

there is but little room for criticism,
except the quality of the camera.
