Its kinda funny to see these guys in a dancing/partying type mood talking about peace and love when they’re singing a socially aware song like the message.
i used to rush my paper round every friday to watch the tube-it was the only place in uk to see people like grandmaster, afrika bambaataa, curtis blow etc. old memories they never fade
Underground New York….good ol’ days, gets me teary eyed thinkin about these days. Livin up the hip hop life style. Tears….tears how this garbage can succeed on MTV…this lollypop shit and 50 cent shit….all garbage….DJ Grandmaster Flash, come back please!
S.U.K yeaah give me more !!the old days was the best in my life!!!fuck the new no future generation!!!it was to cool the old time!!!it give never more this!!!
Ah, The Tube…Sweet memories.
I was in the audience that day 25 years ago right at the front watching these guys. Sounds just as good now as it did all those years ago !!
It was a British programme in the early 1980’s, and it concentrated on showcasing new bands. The majority of bands who played there were indie / rock groups, genres that weren’t renowned for attracting black audiences. Whether the audience knew about the problems of the inner city or not doesn’t really matter – what does matter is that they got to see the original and greatest rap act ever playing their best song live. It was all about the music, back when rappers actually made music.
Not that I have anything against them but why is everybody in the audience white. I doubt that those whites at the time understood the problems facing the innercity.

DIG IT SO BAD!
Today’s rap sucks so much. It’s just a pale copy stereotyped of the real guys of that time.

True, true I agree and I don’t mean any disrespect cheekeeazn. People of different races coming together in music is a beautiful thing.

you dont need to be of the same race or culture of the musician to appreciate his music
